What is Art Nouveau? (is this a good enough of description?)?

Art Nouveau is an international movement that was picked up in the in late 18th century and onwards. A movement that influenced fine art, architecture, furniture work and many other art/ craft forms. This style was characterized by organic, highly stylized, flowing, curvilinear designs often incorporating floral and other plant inspired motifs. The pieces at the time of Art Nouveau where very free with dreamlike designs, many used women and flowers to express the exotic forms as a symbolism to the frequent erotic nature. The movement was richly ornamental and asymmetrical and quite colorful, filled with color the pieces seemed to be mind blowing and eye catching ,Art Nouveau became so popular because or the way it was used and expressed that it soon became a part of everyday life.
