Is this a good proposal for a film paper?

For this analysis, I have chosen the 1999 Brian Robbins film Varsity Blues. In this work, Robbins employs low angles, montages, distortion of sight and sound, and motif colors to heighten the emotion and overall meaning of pivotal scenes. By combining these elements, Robbins builds an environment of both inspiration and tension for his audience. The low angles provide a sense of superiority to certain characters, casting the “villain” of the story in an insuperable light. The various montages (and the use of jump cuts therein), establish chaos and confusion, reflecting the inner feelings of the characters involved in such scenes. The distorted camera angles and oddly mixed sound (mostly a result of slow motion sequences) during specific moments causes a greater focus on the actions of these sections as well as playing with the temporality of the film, alluding to its larger theme of fleeting youth/fame. The reoccurring use of the color blue, and blue hued lighting reflects the inescapabilty of the main character’s environment and the over bearing pressure he feels from his surroundings. By examining the aforementioned elements, I will attempt to show how they combine to create an inspirational, albeit tense environment for the film.
