How Do I Attract More Business?

About a year ago I made the decision to start my own DJ business in order to earn money for myself. I bought brand new sound equipment and a software to play selected lists of music that people ask for their parties or events. I've had a few gigs, but not many at all. I've tried advertising on Craigslist and I have my own business cards and what not. I would just like some good advice on how to maybe advertise myself a little better to get more business. What would you suggest?
